1. What denomination is Christ Baptist Church affiliated with?
Christ Baptist Church is first and foremost under the authority of our head, Jesus Christ. Everything we do is a reflection of our desire to please Christ. We are thankful to be affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. Our partnership with the SBC reflects our desire to work with other like-minded churches to complete the Great Commission.

3. What is the Sunday morning worship service like at Christ Baptist Church?
The primary purpose of gathering on Sunday morning is to hear God's Word. Thus, everything in our services center on what God has said in the Bible. We begin our service by reading a Psalm, we pray prayers based on the Scripture, we sing songs saturated with Scripture, and we listen to preaching that goes verse-by-verse through the Scripture. We sing a variety of songs, hymns, and choruses. We partake of the Lord's Supper on the first Sunday of each month.
4. How did Christ Baptist Church get started?
Christ Baptist Church was birthed out of a desire to reach people with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Over 60% of the people of Wilson do not have a church home. Christ Baptist Church was planted by Open Door Baptist Church in Raleigh.
5. Is Christ Baptist a split off of another church?
No, Christ Baptist Church did not split from another church. A group of Christians in Wilson recognized a need in this area for a church committed to solid Biblical preaching. That group joined Open Door Baptist Church and were sent out by them in September 2006.
6. What do people wear on Sunday mornings to Christ Baptist Church?
There is no particular dress code at Christ Baptist Church. Please feel free to visit us regardless of what you are wearing. Some people feel comfortable wearing a tie or dress. Others come in jeans and tennis shoes.
7. What ministries does Christ Baptist Church have for children?
Currently, we have children's Bible Study classes on Sunday morning and a Wednesday evening children's ministry. Our children's teachers use Desiring God curriculum. Each week our children learn to trust Christ as their all-sufficient Savior.
8. How does a person become a member of Christ Baptist Church?
We take membership very seriously at Christ Baptist Church. To become a member a Christian must attend the Membership Matters class, be interviewed by the elders, and be voted on by the members at a Members Meeting.
9. Does Christ Baptist have any plans for the future?
Yes, Christ Baptist Church intends to be faithful to God's Word no matter what. We have no idea what the future holds. We put all our plans in the hands of a sovereign and good Creator. However, we do plan to plant other churches as God blesses us. And, we plan to have a permanent location as soon as possible.
